Monday Funday: Make Up A Food Play Story

As a speech language pathologist for children, you always have to be coming up with new creative ways for the kids to learn and stay involved.  This is an example of how to use food to do this.  A few other ways that I have seen is through games, like cards or even scavenger hunts.  Putting objects to name or describe around a room and then having the child go find them is a great way to keep them active while working on speech problems.  Another idea is to use play-dough to have kids spell things out or just to keep them busy while learning.  Putting more play into learning is a good way for speech therapy to be fun for kids and not be just another therapy session.
